Well isn’t this just delightful?
A father who often plays video games with his daughter has used his technical skills this week to change an arcade classic and in turn become the best Dad ever…
Mike Mika is a video game maker, and his three year old was rather disappointed when she realised she couldn’t play Donkey Kong as a female character. Her Dad, using his programming skills - swapped the roles of Mario and Pauline, meaning that Pauline makes her way to the top of the building to save her beloved Mario.
On his Youtube channel, Mike wrote "My three year old daughter and I play a lot of old games together… her favourite is Donkey Kong. Two days ago, she asked me if she could play as the girl and save Mario. She's played as Peach in Super Mario Bros. 2 and naturally just assumed she could do the same in Donkey Kong. I told her we couldn't in that particular Mario game, she seemed really bummed out by that. So what else am I supposed to do? Now I'm up at midnight hacking the ROM, replacing Mario with Pauline."
Top Dad points we reckon!
