The Future of 3D Display for Post Production Houses

The Future of 3D Display for Post Production Houses

Good news for people who require outstanding visualisation of their work, because as part of their Digital Signage series our friends at Planar have introduced the Clarity Matrix 3D.

This stunning 3D LCD video wall display is currently used in retail, hospitality, education, corporate events & sport venues etc. But we believe this system has enormous potential within Post production houses for showing dailies or even screenings.

The Clarity Matrix 3D LCD video wall can be viewed in either 2D or 3D and literally adds a whole new dimension. It’s specifically designed for professional 3D visualization environments that require large-format, flicker-free stereoscopic displays.

With an ultra-shallow install depth of 93mm, integrated mounting system and off-board electronics, it makes an ultra-neat display without compromising on visualization quality.

Within the range, there are large-format flat panels, bezel-free displays as well as interactive touchscreens and the superb clarity Matrix modular video wall. So it’s a versatile range that can cater for the multitude of uses our clients might require.

Anyone who has seen this display in action will know how impressive it is. For when viewing your work you can move around, but the images still retain all their 3D content, which means absolutely no “off axis” loss of detail.

This improvement is made possible with the use of passive 3D glasses. These are superior to active shutter glasses because passive glasses have circular polarized lenses that retain brightness and contrast levels, which essentially means less strain on the eye of the viewer. Which we know is an essential benefit for people in our industry, who spend countless hours viewing images.

Whilst on the subject we should mention Planar’s high-end Runco 3D projectors. Although they are better suited to the home cinema system, they’re considered the Roll Royce of projectors in the 3D small screen viewing experience, because of the proprietary Constant Stereoscopic Video architecture (CSV). This enables seamless decoding, syncing and merging of stereo images while delivering a consistent HD image to each eye without the flicker, distortion, or discomfort.

This set up displays high-definition 3D content at a standard that until now was only available in cinemas. It’s also designed to be used with passive 3D glasses, helping to create the absolute best viewing experience when settling down to view the latest blockbuster VFX movie, in the comfort of your own home.

The re-introduction of 3D is clearly becoming more prevalent, and it’s exciting to see quality products being introduced for home entertainment, as well as a wide range of business purposes, so now the advantage of 3D's not only limited to cinema.

Please leave a comment if you have seen either the video wall or 3D projector in action, or if you have a questions about the set up, get in touch on and we'll be happy to help.
