If you’re not familiar with Storm, it’s a basically an on-set acquisition tool for RED cameras. It lets you import footage, check it at full resolution and then work on it in floating point while retaining all the data within the file. You can then grade and check it, before passing it down the pipeline to the Edit or VFX teams.
Early feedback from studios that have used the beta version in their pipeline has been quite positive. Ted Schilowitz of RED wrote a comment about it, which I rather like:“Having seen Storm in detail, I’d describe it as REDCine-X on steroids… The Foundry have looked at RED workflows in great detail and taken logical integration with RED to a very evolved state.”
I’d be interested to know what you think of it. So do post your feedback here.
