The Foundry & Luxology Join Forces

The Foundry & Luxology Join Forces

It was announced this morning by The Foundry CEO Bill Collis and Brad Peebler, President of Luxology, that The Foundry and Luxology have joined forces, which is exciting news, for both 2D and 3D artists.

If you haven’t heard about Luxology, they are a Silicon Valley based independent technology company, best known for modo, an award winning 3D modelling, painting and rendering tool.

According to The Foundry’s Q&A released this morning, the merger comes as the brainchild of mutual customers and users, suggesting that the combination of The Foundry and Luxology will have a massive impact on the way artistic content is produced.

So what does this mean for the future?

The Foundry and Luxology lovers alike need not panic. Both companies will remain as separate entities and will be keeping their names, sales channels and branding and remain dedicated to their current field of expertise but will be sharing a common interest, growth for the future.

With The Foundry's expertise and success within the global visual effects industry and Luxology’s experience in games development and the design industry, this partnership looks to be a match made in heaven.

We look forward to seeing what lies ahead for The Foundry and Luxology!

I am a modo user since ver.102. I am inlove with this software. It is the best Sub-D modeling tool in the world. Amazing stuff done with it.

  • Paul Hitchman:

I contacted Escape two years ago looking for an online course in modo. I was told "it isn't mainstream enough, has a small cult following but isn't the industry standard" times are a changing. Guess there'll be a course on the cards for 2013?
