The CG Industry Needs You

The CG Industry Needs You

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how buoyant the VFX industry is and how Senior NUKE Compositors are in high demand. Well, the surge in demand for mid-level and senior artists is continuing. With some of the biggest releases for 2011 and 2012 (films like The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and War Horse) being worked on in London's Soho, the post houses have never been busier.

There are literally more job opportunities than candidates at the moment. Those of you who are cunning and know that a lot of people go on holiday in the summer may be wise to stay at home and get the pick of the best jobs. The jobs in highest demand are Senior NUKE, Arch-Viz and Motion Graphics Artists as well as Senior Maya Generalists.

So, if you're a senior freelancer who's looking for work in the CG Industry - send me your showreel today. I’d love to hear from you.

    Hi Pat,

The reel is looking good. A couple of comments though...

I think you only need to show a couple of examples of the 3D doors in your reel, this sections feels like it drags on slightly.

It would also be great to see the Marvel Characters textured and finished, they could be real show stealers and obviously are well recognised.

Remember to always lead with your best piece in your reel to get the viewers attention and try and keep it below the 2 minute mark to ensure they watch until the end.
