The CG Graduate Design Awards
Escape Studios is launching a fantastic new online competition designed to discover the future CG stars on both sides of the Atlantic. The CG Graduate Design Awards is the first international competition of its kind and, with help from our sponsors The Mill, we’ll uncover the most talented computer graphics graduates just as they leave university and embark on their careers.
If you’ve graduated in the last 12 months, or you’re a student in your final year of study, we’re offering you a helping hand into the world of computer graphics with professional critiques of your work and the chance to win a new, year-long course at Escape Studios. Twenty runners up, 10 in the US and 10 in the UK, will receive a critique of their showreel by a panel of Escape Studios’ world-class tutors and industry professionals from The Mill. We will also provide the winners with an online “CV clinic” session, where you can discuss your CV and receive valuable advice on how your showreel could be improved.
It’s a great opportunity to showcase the skills you’ve been learning and the good news is, is that we’re opening the competition to all types of work, whether it’s Visual Effects, 3D Animation, Character Animation or even Architectural Visualisation projects.
How to Enter
To enter the CG Graduate Design Awards you must be a student in the US or UK in your final year of study or have graduated in the last 12 months. It’s very easy to submit your showreel, just follow these two simple steps:
- Step one –upload your video to Escape’s YouTube channel clearly labelling the video with your name and the showreel title
- Step two – to complete your entry you’ll need to send your contact details including your name, showreel title, email address, telephone number, year of graduation, university and course attended to escapestudios@brands2life.com so that we can validate your entry and get in touch with you.
The closing date for all entries will be 2nd August. A judging panel of Escape’s world-class tutors and industry professionals from The Mill will critique the showreels and we’ll then announce the overall winners on our blog, one from the UK and one from the US, in September.
