Huge news for Sci-Fi and comic book fans alike this week as Claudio Sanchez, lead singer and mastermind behind progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria, unveiles his plans to adapt his graphic novel, (The Amory Wars published by Evil Ink Comics) into a live action feature film.
The motion picture is set to be produced by none other than Mark Wahlberg and Leverage Management, who formerly brought us Boardwalk Empire, Entourage and Contraband.
The plot lines for the graphic novels have served as inspiration for five albums so far. To match the guitar wizardry, we reckon this movie will be some state of the art visual wizardry, (Vizardry? It’ll never catch on…) especially seen as the storyline is heavily driven by the notions of inter planetary travel and intergalactic warfare.
The cult like fans of the band are undoubtedly the most satisfied of all, being that there has been a cry for such a film for some years. However, from a cinematic perspective we can bet that the work of Coheed and Cambria will encapsulate an entirely new audience in the years to come. This is all the information we have at the moment, but once we find out more we'll make sure to pass it on.
