Skillset Bursaries to support your training and accommodation
If you live in the UK and have professional experience working in the film industry you could be eligible for a bursary from Skillset towards training at Escape Studios. The new funding scheme from Skillset is aimed at increasing high-end visual effects skills within the film industry.
If you are a freelancer you can apply for up to 80% of the combined fees, travel and accommodation costs of your training, up to a maximum of £1,000. If you have a permanent job, you may apply for up to 50% of the combined costs, up to a maximum of £700.
Am I eligible to apply?
If you can demonstrate proven professional experience working regularly within the broader VFX or post production fields in the film industry as either a freelancer or an employee. Work undertaken at film school, on training courses or in education will not be considered professional experience.
Applicants should have at least two film credits on films which have been commercially distributed - or are able to give referees who can confirm their role/work on at least two commercially distributed films.
If you have been accepted on the training course you want to attend or agreed training with a specialist.
If you intend to use these new skills within the UK film industry, this scheme will fund bespoke formalised training – however distinct learning outcomes must be demonstrated. We are happy to discuss this further if required.
