SiC: Softimage User Group Launch Event

SiC: Softimage User Group Launch Event

For Softimage fans out there, you may be glad to hear that the loyal community of Softimage users are regrouping. Under the new name Softimage Creatives (SiC), this is an independent user group based here in London. Following a user group meeting held last November, a discussion began to revive the community among Softimage users. Six industry professionals expressed their interest in helping make this a reality, and with the support of Escape Studios SiC London was born.

Softimage Creatives – London is just the start. The organisers of the London based user group have prepared to make the network global, and already a group in New York is starting to form. If you’re based in a major city and would like to help set up another arm to Softimage Creatives, get in touch with the guys in London to find out how to get involved and use the online resources already set up.

For those of you based in or around London, the first user group meeting will be held at the end of this month, 29th May 2012, at Jerusalem Bar. This is the launch event under the new name, and the organisers are currently looking for people to volunteer as presenters or to share work on the night. Please check out the event page here for more information on this. And of course if you don’t want to present or share work you are still very welcome at this event. This is a great opportunity to network with peers and maybe find your next job. The guys only ask that you register so they can gauge numbers for the night. You can register for the event here.

Softimage Creatives was formed by pople who work in the business of creating graphics with Softimage. The London based team all work at some of the leading VFX companies in the industry, making them the ideal candidates to manage the running of this user group. You can find out more about the people involved here. The guys would love to hear from you, so get in touch with them if you have any suggestions for topics that could be discussed at upcoming events.
