The end of the year is generally a time to wax nostalgic about good, bad, indifferent things that happened in the previous 12 months. It's wonderful to acknowledge where we've been, but even more fun to think about where we're going to go! I read with delighted interest io9's overview (with handy calendar!) of Science Fiction/Fantasy movies for 2012.
The list includes seventy movies - that's a movie roughly every five days! I counted amongst them fourteen sequels, five remakes, dueling Snow White movies, a "snakes on a plane" twist, a couple of apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic romances, the pre-requisite zombie flick(s), a couple of historical overviews with supernatural twists, and a yarn involving the forces of good (Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman) ganging up to kick the daylights out of the force of evil (the Boogeyman). Five against one - how is that fair?
I have high hopes for Mr Nolan's "Dark Knight" movie, and a couple of others ("World War Z", "Antiviral", "Cloud Atlas") look like good, clean fun.
What are you looking forward to seeing in 2012?

47 Ronin from the Director of The Gift I'm hoping for great things, and Brave has SO much expectation to live up to - fingers crossed!
I agree Toby - Brave looks amazing. And how could I forget "The Hunger Games"?!?!?
