Rule, Britannia, Britannia, Rule The Screen

Rule, Britannia, Britannia, Rule The Screen

It's obvious to everyone that 2012 has truly been a year to celebrate Great Britain. In a speech at yesterday’s ‘GREAT’ campaign David Cameron highlighted the very importance of British contribution to the arts, inadvertently giving a thumbs up to the VFX industry.

The ‘GREAT campaign is designed to promote the UK abroad, and aims to deliver long term economic benefits from the increased level of interest generated by the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Cameron promoted the worldwide British influence in film, pulling no punches in reminding the world of our accolades:

“Not many people know this but, if you want superstars, of course all the big actors currently playing Batman, Spiderman or Superman are all actually British… and If it's storytelling you are after, three of the best movie franchises of all time – James Bond, Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter - are all British.”

Interestingly we noticed that all of the films mentioned have recently been worked on by past escapees in London based post houses. Therefore, we would just like to take this moment to congratulate the past students on their success in this industry, and extend our hands to say you’re welcome, Great Britain!
