Paul Franklin

Paul Franklin is a VFX supervisor with over 20 years' experience in digital effects and animation. While studying sculpture at University, Paul began working with a student film group, serving variously as editor, props-maker and graphic designer. His early experiments in computer animation brought him to the attention of the London VFX community and in 1994 he joined the 3D team at the Moving Picture Company in Soho where he worked on a wide range of TV projects and feature films. In 1998, Paul co-founded Double Negative VFX, setting up the new company's 3D department and acting as CG supervisor on Pitch Black, their first feature project.

Paul's credits as a visual effects supervisor include Batman Begins, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and The Dark Knight and his work has brought him nominations for an Oscar ® and two BAFTAs along the way. In early 2009, director Christopher Nolan invited Paul to supervise the visual effects for his new film Inception. Paul was with the production every step of the way from pre-production through to final delivery and his close working relationship with Nolan resulted in some of the most original and spectacular imagery seen in the cinema this year.
