Patrick Davenport

Originally from England, Patrick Davenport has two decades of experience in VFX and production.

A qualified Barrister, Patrick had always wanted to work in film and television so he started as a runner at The Moving Picture Company in London in 1990. After only 4 weeks, he became a trainee producer in the VFX department. In 1995, he was made head of that department and a company director. During his tenure, Patrick produced many award winning projects and helped expand The Moving Picture Company into one of the largest VFX studios in Europe.

In 1997 he joined Digital Domain, the Venice, CA based VFX studio, jumping at the chance to work in LA. As Director of Digital Operations for their newly formed commercials division, Patrick oversaw a team of 80+ artists and produced several award-winning commercials. These included Isuzu’s “Giant” (AICP Best Visual Effects and Clio Gold award for visual effects), Coca-Cola’s “Jitterbug” (Clio Gold award for best animation) and Iomega “Pool” (Clio Silver award for best animation). In January of 2000 he was promoted to Executive Producer.

Moving into production in 2002, Patrick started working at ZK Co, producing a variety of series and documentaries for Bravo, E! Entertainment and VH1. Thereafter, Patrick worked as a Field Producer at MTV on seasons 3 and 4 of their successful reality show “Next”.

Patrick returned to VFX in 2006, joining Image Metrics as Executive Producer. He successfully launched their performance driven facial animation technology into film and television, used most notably in the Oscar™ winning “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”.

Patrick joined Method Studios in 2009 as VP of Creative Operations for the Los Angeles and New York studios.

Patrick is a member of BAFTA, The Visual Effects Society and is on the advisory board of Escape Studios and the board of The Ballona Wetlands Land Trust.
