New Animation Software Market Report Shows Growth in New Sectors

New Animation Software Market Report Shows Growth in New Sectors

Not sure how many of you picked up on this story, but a new report on the Global Animation Software market was released last month. The cost of the full report is a little steep at 3,983 Euro, but the press release did have some interesting snippets of information, which I thought I would share with you.

The first positive bit of information to take from this report is that the market for Animation Software is “slated to witness robust growth” according the publishers of the report: Global Industry Analysts, Inc. That’s good news for all of us, because a growth in this type of software is a pretty good indication of what is actually happening in the Global Animation market.

In fact, this very much verifies the findings in a similar report recently published by Jon Peddie Research called “3D Modelling and Animation Market Study".

The other interesting thing to draw from this announcement from Global Industry Analyst is the fact that much of this growth is expected to come from demand in new industries. I guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise to any of you, but it is nice to see more and more industry analysts talking about this phenomenon. The fact of the matter is that the Internet and the growth in mobile devices is driving people to “consume” more and more content. This content is in turn becoming more and more sophisticated and is driving many industries to commission more animated content (much of it for advertising purposes) to drive their desired audiences to them.

The way in which content is being created and consumed on the Internet is incredibly exciting to me and should be to you too as it will create new jobs for animators around the world. Below is another interesting graph from Classes and Careers which I recently came across, as I was researching this topic.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this – especially if you are closely involved in the creation of animated content for the Internet.
