Escape Studios would like to invite aspiring Compositors to a special event which will give you the chance to meet and talk to two of the VFX industry's most experienced artists, Davi Stein and Simon Haslett.
Both Davi and Simon have an impressive list of Film and TV credits and now work as Tutors here at Escape Studios, delivering the Compositing for Production and Compositing Professional courses.
In normal circumstances our Tutors' time is reserved for the current students at Escape but following the success of the VFX Festival we have decided to open access to them for this one off event.
If you have any burning questions about what it is like to work in the VFX industry at some of the biggest Post Production houses, on some of the most visually stunning movies ever made, with some of the most talented Director's in the world then this event is a must for you. It doesn't come along very often.
It’s difficult to know where to start with Davi‘s credits, so impressive is the list of films she has worked on. Davi was Senior Compositor on ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' and ‘Australia’. But the list doesn’t stop there. Davi did a stint at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and worked on ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest’ where she composited the Davy Jones character. She also worked on ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ where she was responsible for the composites of the incredible scene in the Hall of Prophecies sequence. Finally, Davi was also part of the incredible teams that worked on ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ and 'The Matrix Revolutions'.
Having worked in nearly all of the major post production houses in Soho, from Framestore to Cinesite and Double Negative, as well as Blue Sky Studios and Tippett Studios in the US, Davi has untold amounts of Compositing experience and is a natural fit here at Escape Studios in her role as Compositing Tutor.
Here is a link to her IMDB credits.
The newest member to our team of tutors, Simon Haslett, has worked on some of the most renowned titles in the world of VFX and is passing on his wealth of skill and industry gained experience to our students here at Escape Studios.
After spending many years in Hollywood, this sorcerer of 2D has worked his magic on such visual delights as Titanic, Independence Day, Alice in Wonderland, The Dark Knight, Tomb Raider and not one, not two, but three, Harry Potter Movies and that is quite literally, naming but a few.
Be sure to check his IMDB page and peruse his back catalogue of top quality work.
