As many of you will know, JJ Abrams was last week confirmed as director of new Disney owned segment of the Star Wars saga. We’ll forgive your bare faced denial of the appointment only last month JJ, just make sure episode VII is a killer!
To our further displeasure though, Star Wars fans were further informed this week that the first instalment will be hitting screens later than first expected, as Abrams has not yet committed to the film’s intended 2015 release date.
Apparently, the new director has a track record of delaying projects, with his latest Star trek project being pushed back a whole year, this is no real surprise, and in all fairness, it appears his heart is in the right place, after all, with all the surrounding controversy regarding the Disney take-over of Lucasfilm there’s no way this Star Wars can allow itself underwhelm it’s loyal hoard of fans.
“I want to do the fans proud. I want to make sure the story is something that touches people. And we're just getting started. I'm very excited."
