High end graphics company ISOTROPIX released a new product last month called Clarisse iFX, a piece of software which it claims, bridges the gap between 2D and 3D in production.

It looks like a top of the range visualisation/layout tool where the 3D and 2D artist can see all the elements come together for the final shot. Its suggested use is for final layout and compositing in production. Downsides though, are that it does seem to lack extensive 2D tools, and there is a lack of clarity regarding the 3d toolset... One thing is for sure ‘Clarisse’ has a blisteringly fast renderer, and is something to look out for in the future!
