How 3D Glasses Helped Defeat Hitler

How 3D Glasses Helped Defeat Hitler

The new cinema buzz word at the moment is 3D... But did you know that this technology probably helped us win the war?...

Stereoscopy was invented by the Victorians but during the second world war, British intelligence agents used stereo pictures of Europe to find out where the Germans were launching their V-1 and V-2 rockets from (more commonly known as the Doodlebug). Therefore allowing the Allies to destroy most of the weapons before they could be launched onto London... Thus saving many lives and ultimately the war.

There is a fascinating article and an upcoming BBC documentary about this amazing use of 3D technology.
