Gideon Corby

Gideon graduated in Economics and Sociology at Manchester University, but it was during a chance visit to the computer room while studying sculpture at St Matin's college that he found it was 3D on the screen that interested him . This was back when high end packages came on half a dozen floppy discs. He set about making a name for himself in the VFX industry and among his many credits, you will find an animated short used to advertise the Star Trek film, a project at the National Theatre, a stint at the BBC as well as the creation of 3D models for the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Gideon also worked on the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire end credits animation and was responsible for the graphics of BBC2's spoof school science series 'LOOK AROUND YOU' which was nominated for a BAFTA and won the Golden Rose.

Gideon went on to teach at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions and universities from Norwich College of the Arts and London’s Royal College of Art, to the National Film + TV School and the Kent Institute for Art & Design.
It is this wealth of expertise and experience that makes Gideon such a popular tutor among our students.
