Well, it's Friday, so get ready for a double dose of Ash. I've already popped in once today to let you know about #escapeftw. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming; me chatting about games.
We've just got through Gamescon, and what a ride it was. PS4's release date has finally been announced. Xbox One doesn't require a Kinect to work. Nintendo probably said something, I wasn't listening. And what else did we get? Lots of lovely trailers.
I'll start with Batman, because what conversation doesn't have enough Batman in it? The prequel to the outstanding Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games, Batman; Arkham Origins focus' on the earlier days of the caped crusader's crime fighting career (holy alliteration, Batman!) where the villainous Black Mask has placed a bounty on Bats head, and he's forced to contend against 8 assassins while trying to take down the Joker. A new trailer this week (above) gave us peeks of Alfred, the Batcave and the newest assassin...Firefly!
Crazy bloke dressed like a bug with a jet pack and a flamethrower? Oh, don't shake your head at me, you know they'll make it work. From bats to zombies, as a new CG trailer for Dead Rising 3 popped up too - caution before clicking kiddies, this one has a few naughty words in it. Thousands of zombies? Check. Hot chick with a gun? Check. Guy building his own steamroller-flamethrower bike? Yeah, that's big old check. Go on. Click it. You know you want to.
Let's end on something a bit more lighthearted, shall we? How about Lego Marvel Super Heroes! Yay! Lego have been turning the biggest franchises into the cutest games for years now, and LMSH looks like it might end up being the best of the bunch! I personally love the Lego games, they're hilarious and heartfelt, and great for coop fun. Also, did you catch Squirrel Girl in that trailer? Squirrel Girl is bad ass!
I'm bursting at the seams with excitement, and you should be too. Take care, true believers!
