Free Tutorial: Effects in V-Ray for Max

For those of you who want to learn V-Ray for Max, you’re in for a real treat this month. We’ve released a tutorial from our new V-Ray course which will be launched over the coming weeks. The tutorial has been taken directly from one of the major case studies within the course and this video is designed to demonstrates the power of V-Ray.

What's in this 10 Minute Tutorial?
It’s pretty packed, but you’ll get lots out of it. Working on a scene with billions of polygons, volumetric clouds, G.I, motion blur and more, this snippet concentrates on some of the available effects on offer and how using them can improve the realism of your renders. We'll start by analysing scene depth and its importance in conveying the scene to the viewer. Having considered potential methods by which to simulate depth in our scene, Max's standard fog is chosen to help generate an atmospheric effect. The second section moves onto another effect, this time for the sun. By taking advantage of the V-Ray Lens Effects we can add glare to our sun, helping it fit realistically into our sky and also our final render.
