As Europe’s leading VFX academy, our tutors do their best to spread their knowledge to all corners of the continent, and it is our pleasure to announce that on the 12th and 13th of December, our very own Dan Shutt will be journeying to Turin, to deliver a pair of tantalising talks to our VFX loving, Italian counterparts!
During the first workshop, participants will be shown how to create a photo realistic shot from a photographic still, using the alignment of geometry and cameras to a backplate and then mapping via the camera’s perspective. This technique is an effective way to create an animated shot without spending lots of time modelling, and is frequently used in film, commercials and broadcast television.
Dan will provide participants with a photo from his own collection and take them through each of the camera mapping steps required to convert it into their own animated shot. He will also discuss the simple means by which they can vary the elements within the shot and introduce new elements. By the end of the workshop, participants will know how to create animated shots of everything from their own home to world famous landmarks.
Following on from this beginner’s workshop, this class will be looking at alternative ways to line up cameras with geometry. Students will also be building a more advanced set and applying sky replacement as well as replacing other elements.
