You need a camera to make a movie… or a TV show… or a first-person-shooter. Sometimes it’s a real-live camera with actual film in it. Sometimes it’s your iPhone. Sometimes it’s a CG camera in an application like Maya, Nuke, Unreal or SketchUp.
But, it’s always a camera, and no matter what kind of camera it is, they all work basically the same way… and that is really amazing.
I’m really excited to be putting together a Camera Crash Course for our May webinar. In just 40 minutes, I’ll cover all of the basics of how cameras work, how they move and they are used to tell a story. As usual, I’ll be showing lots and lots of examples (both good and bad) to illustrate each concept.
Whether you are already interested in cinematography or just want to know more about how cameras fit into productions of all kinds, this should be an entertaining presentation. I’ll also have a Q&A session to answer questions submitted by participants, so I’ll have my copies of the ASC Film Manual and Shot by Shot handy, along with some additional clips to show if we need them.
Remember, it’s a crash course, so we’ll be covering lots of material in a short period of time! Sign up now!
