Our relationships within the industry mean that we are often lucky enough to offer our students the chance to get a first hand glimpse into the realm of CG. As we so often say, a course at Escape Studios is not just about the best training but about seeing the industry in action and forging relationships that will benefit your career aspirations. Recently our Visual Effects classes had two afternoons away from Escape visiting top visual effects facilities The Mill and Glassworks. This was followed by a longer trip to Pinewood Studios where they visited Centroid3D, a motion capture studio (pictured). Both the Characters and Animation classes enjoyed a visit to Framestore, where they met with the Oscar-winning team behind the bears in 'The Golden Compass'. They were then fortunate enough to receive a unique presentation on the Emmy-nominated 'Human Body: Pushing the Limits' by Rushes' VFX Technical Director and Escapee Mark Pascoe. Finally, the Games class also received outside influences. The brilliant lecture on facial development techniques from Ninja Theory’s Stuart Adcock was followed swiftly by a day trip to Blitz Games. |
