4Talent competition winners win access to Maya Core

Earlier this year, Escape Studios ran a competition with 4Talent magazine that offered three individuals the chance to win access to our Maya Core online course, two of them came along to our studios for the day. The main prize winner Richard Phelan (left) also won a place on our Animation course and is pictured with our Training Manager, Jason Jenner (Centre) and second prize winner, Michael Rokes.

‘I am absolutely ecstatic, I never thought that I would be chosen’ said Richard, ‘Being able to study at Escape Studios will be incredible - so many of their graduates have gone on to work in the industry, and are doing what they’ve always wanted, I hope to be one of them.’

The prize winners had to write 50 words on why their passion for computer graphics and animation should win them a place. The two runners’ up Michael Rokes and Rachel Hassler couldn’t believe their luck when they got a call to say they’d won access to Maya Core online.

‘We are both currently employed and so having access to Maya Core online means that we can study at our own pace in our own time. It’s a real privilege to have access to a course that is being adopted by so many companies within the industry.’

Escape Studios Training Development Director and competition Judge, Lee Danskin said: ‘The competition was tough, they had to encapsulate in 50 words a lifetime of passion to be part of this industry - this is what we were looking for, if you have the passion, we can give you the skills to get into the industry’
