Games Course

Games

Put simply, the games course is all about teaching you how to create artwork that is actually going to get you a job in games. As junior artists you’re going to have to take art direction and create realistic models and environments to a brief. Junior games artists don’t write code, or design levels, so we’re not teaching you games design and programming.

Instead, you’ll learn how to model properly and texture realistically whilst developing your art skills. Environments, so crucial in games, are looked at in-depth. You’ll build interiors and exteriors and learn how to light them to achieve a specific look and mood. Each week of the course takes existing games artwork as the brief, and you’ll produce work examples for your reel, which our recruitment team will help you tailor for games job applications.

The course has been developed and is taught by Simon Fenton. Simon spent the last ten years at Sony Computer Entertainment’s London Studio where he worked as a Lead Artist.
