Busy BOXX launch more workstations

It seems as if it was only a couple of months ago that we were reporting on new BOXX workstations. Well, it was but those Texan techies have been keeping hard at it to bring yet more top-notch machines.

The 3DBOXX 7550 is based on the revolutionary Opteron processor and allows maximum creative flexibility for the digital artist. Updated with Quad-Core AMD® Opteron® processors and a total of eight cores make it the ideal platform for running applications such as Autodesk Maya or 3ds Max.

For users more interested in 2D work the 3DBOXX 4600 Series can be powered by the Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad or Duo processors. It also features a professional graphics capability, and adds up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and six SATA 3 GB/s drives delivering a powerhouse that punches well above its weight.

Recognising the importance of film post-production the 3DBOXX RTX was born, in a chassis that houses up to 10 or 15 data drives plus two system drives what's more. The drives can generate up to 1GB/s bandwidth that rapidly loads high-resolution film. The RTX is optimized to take advantage of key features in applications such as TOXIK, Combustion, Fusion, Scratch, and Iridas.
