Escape & Pixar host Euro RenderMan user group meeting

In a self confessed 'Geek Fest', Pixar enthralled a 150 strong crowd with the kind of developer talent normally set aside only for Siggraph.

Host, Dana Batali, Director of Product Development, gave the User Group news that Pro Server V14.0 was just around the corner, and that we'll soon see the introduction of re-rendering technology. The enraptured multitude also heard about plans for a new generation of Alfred (white paper due Q1 next year).

Another notable feature of the day was that on average people consumed £13.33 of alcohol and 5.6 canapés (to a total of 840). For our part, we have no idea who put away the most but it goes to prove that all involved enjoyed the evening.

Jez Tucker of Rushes commented, "It's fantastic to see Pixar bringing the UGM to London. There's no substitute for meeting the developers and hearing them talk in person about current and future development plans."

Mark Cass, Escapes' Commercial Director added, "It was fantastic to see RenderMan customers from all over Europe flying in. Pixar again proves their commitment to our community and we look forward to next year!"
