The University of West England are elated, Escape Studios has provided a complete technology solution for their new animation courses in the School of Creative Arts. Rachel Robinson, course tutor at UWE said: We want to ensure that our new animation courses are industry quality; Aardman Animation Studios introduced us to Escape - having recently adopted their online learning system - to lend their expertise.’ Ian Costello, Media Resources Manager at UWE said; ‘Escape listened to what we needed and delivered the perfect solution. All of the software and hardware the students will work on has been prescribed and supplied by Escape, plus we have adopted their online learning system, the Maya Core course, so that the students can have a constant industry proven resource.’ Escape Studios’ Business Development Manager, Richard McGuinness added: ‘it’s great to be able to offer Universities the same technology as we do with our professional customers. UWE’s investment in Boxx workstations, Nexsan SATABeast, Pixar’s RenderMan, Pixologic ZBrush and Autodesk’s Maya mean they have the tools industry are using. Our consulting team were able to install the hardware and software in two days to complete the service we provided’ UWE are also the first University to adopt our Maya online courseware following a succession of companies making the investment. They clearly saw the benefits it will give to their students.
