James Owens

James studied 3D design at the University of Northumbria,specialising in furniture design. It was after this that he made the leap into CG, deciding to embark on the Maya Comprehensive course at Escape.

After finishing James stayed to do some tracking for MPC and The Mill in our Escape Pods, later becoming Tracking Supervisor on projects such as a Sony Bravia advert, ‘Harry Potter and the Order of he Phoenix’, and an O² advert.

Next he worked in product visualisation on aircraft projects and both supervised tracking and worked as a 3d operator on a Vodafone live commercial and a Lily Allen music video at Partizan, among many other projects.

If all that wasn’t enough James has also been teaching the tracking/matchmove section of the VFX and Compositing courses, training people for the PODs, and is now working on the Maya Core course development.
