Escape
Studios sees students with all kinds of backgrounds through its doors but few who
have taken such an interesting path as Rebecca Clay.
Rebecca
came to our attention last year following a very public spat with her former
university. She claims it failed to deliver on its promises, and three years of
studying animation left her without a showreel of any note and generally
unprepared to enter the workplace. So, she set about suing her alma mater, the
story made the national news, and that’s when we here at Escape picked up the
baton.
After
tracking Rebecca down, we offered to show her how it’s done properly, the
Escape way. We gave Rebecca the chance to study on one of our compositing
courses which she completed last April, and that wasn’t the end of matters
either.
True
to our ethos of providing the very best all-round experience possible, Rebecca
then found a place in the Escape Pods working for MPC.
“There was a huge
difference between Escape and my old university,” said Rebecca.
“At my university we found the equipment to be broken, or non-existent. Not
only that but the tutors seemed unprepared, and there was little contact time with them anyway.”
“Escape
was the opposite. I learnt more on the three month course than in three years
at uni, and I’ve had the chance to both work with MPC in the Pods getting real
experience and finish off my showreel.”
Disappointment with university courses is something we hear of a lot, and that’s why we offer more than any other training facility. Top-grade equipment and industry professional tutors mean that we offer the very best training available anywhere. And don’t just take our word for it. Join a Studio Tour and you’ll have the chance to talk to both students and escapees.
