When Escape’s first ever Animation course wrapped up on March 28 we knew from the happy graduates that it had been a resounding success. With the next one beginning on the 12th of May we asked our Animation Course Specialist Jeff Pratt who worked at Pixar for 10 years on the likes of ‘Toy Story’, to give us the low-down. "The course is made up of 12
students, which is the maximum we take for any class; they work to develop
short animation pieces with dialogue taken from films so they can create new
and original takes on favourite scenes" Using a character that Jeff developed especially for the course, it is aimed to deliver far more than just computer skills; Part of the training includes ‘Acting for Animators’ and ‘Life Drawing for Animators’ classes. One of the students, Lewis Young, had lots to say about the course, "The pace of the lessons, clarity of teaching and the adrenaline of having to show your work every morning brought out the best in every student. It was wonderful to be taught by such a skilled and experienced animator as Jeff, who was a constant inspiration." "We would often leave the computers
alone for the day to workshop, story-telling or drafting, always working
as a team and feeding off each other's ideas. It was a LOT of fun."
The next Animation Course starts on May 12th and there are only a few spaces left. Enrol now to avoid disappointment. If you’d like any more information on this, or any other course, please feel free to contact Jason our Training Manager. |
