Great animation requires a great performance, and who better to inspire this than Pixar veteran and course tutor Jeff Pratt. Over six weeks you will study the core principles of animation, realistic movement, weight and timing. Being able to operate the software tools just isn’t enough and consequently the course focuses on the joint development of both artistic observation and technical skills. Our course respects the fact that animators are artists, supplementing the computer animation curriculum with life drawing and acting workshops. We won’t waste time creating complex models and set-ups. Instead you’ll work with a fully pre-rigged character to ensure you spend your time focusing purely on the animation. Finally you’ll create your very own short project and in doing so gain an understanding of how to storyboard a sequence and animate to dialogue, just like in feature animation.
