2009 Summer Classes: A roaring success

When our first ever summer classes ran this year we were just as excited as the people booked to attend them. Turns out, they were not only popular; they were a resounding success for all involved.

The Summer Classes were born from a simple notion: How do school leavers, graduates and other aspiring 3D artists know if a career in the Computer Graphics industry is right for them? These taster classes were designed for those of you who hadn’t quite made your mind up and didn’t know what a job in this industry would entail. So, we ran the following courses: Introduction to Maya, Games, Animation and VFX which were short, intensive and informative.

Feedback from the people who attended was excellent:

'I worked as a network administrator for 7 years, so taking the Intro to Maya and Games was a good way to test the water and confirm whether it was for me. The teachers were excellent and provided a great insight into what it's like to work in the industry. I'll be enrolling on either their full-time Games or VFX course next year - just a case of deciding which one!' - Michael Benner, soon to be Escapee.

‘I did my BA in Animation a few years back - but, like many students, wasn't prepared for the industry. I came along to the VFX Summer Class and haven't looked back - I'm now booked onto the full-time VFX course and looking forward to learning the right skills to get in the industry.’ – Paul Ashall, VFX Student.

These classes have now finished, but we have several short courses lined up for the future. If you’d like to keep up to date with the latest short and evening courses on offer, plus any promotions we might be running, then sign up to receive our monthly newsletter.
