Jim Thacker, 3D World

Jim Thacker, 3D World
In what had been described by observers as "a bad career move", Jim trained as a botanist before going on to do a string of unrelated and excitingly badly paid jobs, including making short films, writing teletext and delivering telephone directories.

Having finally stumbled into journalism Jim became editor of 3D World, the leading international magazine for 3D animators, in which capacity he has been more or less gainfully employed for the past five years.

He has also written for technology and design magazines including T3, .net and Screen International, edited a book-length guide to 3D graphics, lectured at the National Portrait Gallery, and served on the judging panels of several international animation awards.
