Digging For Bones with Christian Cardona

Digging For Bones with Christian Cardona

I will happily admit that my taste in what I watch on television has always been teetering on the edge of strange.

I have always favoured a combination of US sitcoms, crime dramas and sports (shock horror!). I’m a fanatic for The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, CSI, Criminal Minds and any or all football matches.

So when I accidentally stumbled across two interviews with Christian Cardona from LOOK VFX, the VFX supervisor on The Fox Network’s procedural crime drama Bones, I knew I had struck gold.

With the show in its eighth series it has always been successful and one of my firm favourites. Based on the books by Kathy Reichs, Bones is a mishmash of frothy forensics and super sleuthing.

The articles give a pretty in-depth look into the visual effects that is required for show and it doesn’t hurt that Christian is not only really talented but also incredibly dashing, starting his film industry career as a stunt man but later turning his hand to visual effects. He even gives us a peak into the main tools used in their pipeline, including Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max and Adobe After Effects.
