So Salvador Dali is truly one of my favorite artists. My colleague in the UK blogged about Dali recently (I think based on a conversation the two of us had, but I’m not sure). I’m confident most all of you know about Salvador Dali and his famous surrealist works. My favorite is “The Melting Clocks.” Of course, there’s no way to describe this painting. Just look at it and take it in.
And, Walt Disney, is, well, Walt Disney—one of a kind, a true magician in the art of film making. Need I say more?
So, to get to the point, my colleague mentioned in her blog post that Salvador Dali and Walt Disney crossed paths and actually created something together. I was awestruck... Really? How could that be? We are talking about two really different worlds—surrealistic art and film? Did they get along? How would two personalities like that work together? The list of questions is endless.
It’s indeed true. Walt Disney and Salvador Dali did work on a film together called Destino. It, like Salvador and Disney’s works, is truly a piece of art. You can see the short film here. The song “Destino” is exceptionally beautiful. And, if you really want to get the skinny on what was behind the collaboration, link here. You’ll get the whole scoop. Who would have thought?
