Creating great animated characters
How do we create great characters in animation? What goes into the creation of a great character?
Great animated characters are a blend of a number of important elements: a strong idea, coupled with good design, a unique voice, and excellent animation. We need all four elements to work together. Great characters should feel original and unique, and not be derivative in any way.
Creating a memorable character is the true test of the animator's skill; it's where we try to combine an original experience with great acting and strong technical ability.
