First we shared the big news that the next release in the Starship Troopers franchise would be a fully CG film, and now we've just heard that the Resident Evil franchise has followed suit, releasing their own fully CG film towards the end of this year. The film, entitled Resident Evil: Damnation, has so far only been given a release date in Japan, which will be towards the end of October on blu-ray and DVD.
For those of you who are true Resident Evil fans then I’m sure you'll get your fix of this soon, although I'm still not sure if it's my cup of tea. It’s difficult to find any further plot information, or behind the scenes footage on who worked on it, but as we find out more we’ll let you know. For now however, enjoy the trailer!
This second fully CG film release does raise the question, whether this kind of film will become a thing of the future? And as they become more popular, can they look foward to a theatrical release eventually? How many of you would support a film like this if shown in a cinema near you? From the trailers we've seen so far, there is some fantasic CG detail on show, and if films like this prove to be a success, we look forward to seeing this trend grow, more money invested, and the quality of production breaking new ground.
