The Mill recently completed a commercial for US client Norfolk Southern, showcasing the transformative power of freight shipping. Being a rather stunning piece of work, you may be interested to know that this project was rendered primarily using Mental Ray, taking advantage of the newish unified sampling feature.

The commercial was designed from the ground up, produced and directed entirely by The Mill’s New York team, making it a prime example of the extensive work that goes into a project like this. Tapping into childhood fascinations with trains, the directors wanted to present freight shipping in a new light, with the Mill’s artists working tirelessly to create storyboards, character designs and Pre-Viz prior to filming. And as you can see, their hard work obviously paid off.
