CG Whiz 2011 is now closed to new entrants, and it’s been an incredible third year for the competition. We’ve seen our highest-ever number of entries (almost 200!), including an impressive showing in the new Young Pros category. The standard this year has been higher than we’ve ever seen before, and it’s been amazing to see the amount of talent that’s out there in the world of digital creativity.
While the expert panel of judges retire to consider their verdict (which will not be an easy task), we’re going to ask you to do the same. This year, we’re running the first-ever CG Whiz Users’ Choice Awards, sponsored by 3D Artist Magazine, Digital Artist Magazine and CGSociety. That's right we are asking you, the viewer, to vote for the entries in both the Young Pro and Amateur categories that you like best.
You can vote for as many as you like and there are no specific criteria - it is totally up to you. You don’t have to be an entrant to the competition to vote for your favourite – you just need to be interested in CG. If you have actually entered the competition yourself, it might be time to call in a few favors from your workmates, friends and family and get them voting for you ;-)
The Young Pro Users’ Choice winner will receive an online workrshop from CG society, whilst the Amateur Users’ Choice winner will win a 12-month online Maya Essentials course from Escape Studios.
How to vote
It couldn't more simple, just go to our Amateurs Category Gallery and Young Pros Category Gallery on Facebook and just "like" the entries that you prefer. You might be ask to "confirm" your vote by Facebook. If that's the case, just click confirm.
That's it. I can't wait to see which ones get your votes. Don't forget, the voting will stop on December 1, 2011.
