CG Whiz 2010: A tough task to judge

As this year’s CG Whiz competition finally closes, we’re delighted to announce we had 170 entries through the door (smashing last year’s entry tally) and the quality of reels blew us away. There’s definitely a lot of talented CG artists out there and we know just how much this competition can help up and coming artists get their foot in the door.

Last year’s winner Adam Droy - now a 3D artist at The Mill - spoke to The Guardian this month and gave his handy tips on what you need to break into the world of CG. It’s well worth having a read for an insiders guide.

This week, we’re starting the judging process and Adam, alongside our friends at The Mill and 3D Artist will be trying to whittle down the entries – a tough job for any judge!

We’ll be announcing the short list next week, so good luck if you entered and stay tuned to the blog.
