NVIDIA very recently put out a call for Maya artists to submit new models to be considered and potentially used as benchmarks for Autodesk’s Maya. NVIDIA developed a CUDA plug-in for Maya that delivers fluid simulation, hence their involvement in this. For more details on that, check out this demo.
The SPEC organisation, who are the guys responsible for establishing, maintaining and endorsing standardised benchmarks for the industry, are looking for brand new models to update the SPECapc benchmark for Autodesk Maya.
The models submitted must belong to you, completely rights free of any production, and in return your model could be the reference in the industry for Maya performance. The selected model will be credited appropriately, making this a great opportunity to showcase your skills as an artist. Think of it as an advertising platform for your work that will be promoted by NVIDIA and SPEC internationally.
So if you’re interested in sharing your model(s) with thousands of people around the world, you should contact Allen Jensen at NVIDIA for more details.
