Top Down Animation - Work in Progress - Step 1

I am currently working on (amongst other things) a simple animation in order to demonstrate the Top Down Animation Technique. The animation I am going to do is of a character walking up and sitting down in a chair then tipping backwards. I thought it would be interesting to demonstrate the steps that I would go through in doing an animation this way, so I'll be posting my progress as I go.

New online courses: VFX Advanced Shading and Lighting

We’ve got a couple of exciting new online courses coming up for slightly more experienced CGers.  The Advanced Lighting and Advanced Shading modules are aimed at people with a bit of Maya knowledge, having completed the Maya Core program.

Introducing Matt Long - Computer Arts Project Competition Winner

We're delighted to announce the winner of our competition with Computer Arts Project: Matt Long. We received many applications to this competition, and the overall quality of the entries was very high, but Matt impressed the judges with an original and well-executed character design. Autodesk Maya, now truly unlimited? – Maya 2010

Our friends at Autodesk have made some pretty spectacular changes to their Maya package by consolidating their packages in to one. Gone are the days of Maya Complete and Maya Unlimited, we’re now left with one standard solution. So it might come at a higher cost but is it worth it?
