Will Emma still be the Belle of the Ball?
You may remember earlier this week I got a little excited about the prospect of Emma Watson playing Cinderella in Walt Disney Pictures’ live action adaptation of the fairy tale.

Those who follow our blog will have had their whistle whetted by our recent post about the progress of Jurassic Park 4, as well as last week’s ‘Lee’s App of the Week’, which we bet increased your thirst for Dinosaur action by a fair amount!
The Beast that is Disney
Doctor Who writer Joe Ahearne has been tipped for a reimagining of Disney's Beauty And The Beast.
Every Young Girl’s Dream (well, quite a few…)
I’ll probably get in to trouble if I say that EVERY young girl dreamed of having their very own Prince Charming slip on the glass slipper and whisk her away from a life of boredom, ill-treatment and endless cleaning, but it would be fair to say that quite a few girls grew up getting lost in this particular fantasy, and it would appear that Emma Watson is one of them!
Who ya gonna call…?
I’m showing my age here, but one of my favourite flashbacks to my childhood is of being sat on the sofa with my younger brother staring wide-eyed at the TV screen while bumbling scientists Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis got slimed over and over in the supernatural comedy classic, Ghostbusters. Released in June 1984, I was too young to go and see it at the cinema but I never failed to catch the re-runs when it appeared in our homes during the years that followed, usually around Christmas time if my memory serves me correctly.

"Man it's cool, it's the best thing I've written"
Harry Potter fans (there are a few of them out there) will have to readjust their vision come 2014/15, as it has been announced that Daniel Radcliffe is in final negotiations with 20th Century Fox over playing the lead role of Igor, in an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. It is said that production will begin later this year.

From the hand of Walt Disney himself
Check out these never before seen sketches from the hand of Walt Disney himself. Classic Mickey Mouse animation is simply one of my favourite things to watch, conveying a story, emotion or an idea in such simple drawings, for me really highlights to skill of this art, and art I have the utmost respect for.
Industrial Light and Magic - Path to the Death Star
As readers of our blog will know, we grab any Star Wars news by the horns, grind it into a couple hundred words, and blog the Sith out of it.
This occasion is no different, and while just last month, Star Wars fans everywhere were petitioning to get a death star built and launched into space, Industrial Light and Magic (VFX Brainchild of Star Wars creator George Lucas) were busy putting together a timeline of their journey, creating the Death Star for it’s first appearance in ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’.
It shows the milestones of an iconic studio as well as the creation of one of the most iconic images in cinematic history.
Lee's App Of The Week: Jurassic Park Builder
Normally I come bearing apps of technical brilliance, photographic immensity and all-round-smarty-pants-show-off material. This week however, I bring you JURASSIC PARK BUILDER. That's right people, you heard me right the first time, JURASSIC PARK BUILDER. Where all of your T-Rex and Jeff Goldblum dreams can come true.

Weta Featurette-a

Framestore Recreate 1865 America for Lincoln
Lincoln is very much a hit with the award bodies this year. Having only just recently hit the cinemas, the film has already scooped up a Golden Globe and a BAFTA as well as being nominated for 12 Oscars. And although this is all very lovely, we’re more interested in the stunning results achieved by Framestore for this epic biopic. Providing the backdrop of 1865 America, a country ripped in two by civil war, Framestore worked alongside the filmmakers to make a historically accurate recreation that was both invisible and believable. And having already proved their expertise on Spielberg’s previous project War Horse, Framestore have obviously earned the trust and respect of Steven and his team.
A woman's touch...
The role of Visual Effects Supervisor is hugely important on set as well as during the whole post production process. This person works with both the Director and Clients to convert artistic concepts to stunning visual imagery.
