World War Z - Next Level VFX!

World War Z - Next Level VFX!

Hi dudes! It's been a while since I've seen a film where the special effects really surprised me. The thing is that these days everything is ordinary: it's absolutely normal to go to the cinema and see giant robots, extreme explosions, blah blah blah.

Congrats to all our Escapees who helped make ‘Man of Steel’ possible

By now, we’re guessing, many of you VFX fans out there will have seen Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel. If you haven’t, we’re sure you have a valid excuse. And for those of you who have, you may have noticed the epic credits list for the VFX department in particular. As we respectfully stay at the end of the movie to watch the credits roll, we’re always proud to spot names we recognise among the list – the names of our graduates.

London Film & Comic Con - what's it all about?

London Film & Comic Con - what's it all about?

We got to Earls Court at around 9am on Saturday morning and paid £12 for entry (this was strictly an admission fee, no photo or autograph opportunities/food or drinks included!) and by 11am the queue was truly immense, given that it was blisteringly hot outside, the early birds definitely got the worm!

How far would you go for your dream job?

How far would you go for your dream job?

One would certainly expect that creatively editing footage is a very valuable skill to demonstrate to a prospective employer in the VFX industry, especially so when that prospective employer is DreamWorks Studios, the position? Post-Production Assistant.

Small Soldiers - How was it done?

Small Soldiers - How was it done?

Small Soldiers was, no sorry –IS, in my book anyway - an awesome film, sure I may think that way because I’ve adorned it in a proverbial cloak of nostalgia, but regardless, I am part of a generation that found itself moved and entertained by the ongoing battle between the Gorgonites, led by the valiant Archer, and the antagonist Chip Hazard’s Commando Elite.
