“I can say that what Jaws did for water, Gravity does for air”

“I can say that what Jaws did for water, Gravity does for air”

It was whispered around the film community that we Alfonso Cuarón got started on Gravity, it was going to be something truly epic. Well the first reviews came in today from the Venice film festival where it was premiered, and guess what, it sounds just that! Here are a few snippets from reviewers/tweeters that have been kindly collated by thefilmstage.com. (check the site out here for the full reviews)

I am a great fan of Neil Gaiman, I was from the moment I read Good Omens to his most recent The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, they are captivating stories and his graphic novels have some amazing art work to boot.

Happy Friday everyone! May the woo be with you. There's a good vibe in the office this morning as we sail towards August bank holiday; the sun is shining, birds are swaying, trees are singing. I might even go for a walk later.

It's all about Shepherd's Bush!

It's all about Shepherd's Bush!

One of the highlights of studying at Escape Studios is of course its fantastic location in the heart of West London's Shepherd's Bush. Being just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the tube, the train and all manner of buses means Students have easy access to Central London (including the VFX hub of Soho) as well as other famous London hotspots including Oxford Circus and Notting Hill.

I'll admit I don't play video games, but I do thoroughly enjoy seeing the environments that they create. I came across this site that highlights some beautiful game worlds, assembled by ultrabrilliant.

Google Glass - Raising the technological bar.

As someone who has close, personal experience of Autism through my son, I can see some really interesting technology being developed using Google Glass as a route into the puzzling world of understanding other people.

Orchestra + Animation = Awesome!

Orchestra + Animation = Awesome!

Don’t you just love it when two intricate art forms collide to make something equally as wonderful as each ingredient on its own? We saw this video (above) created by students from the University for the Creative Arts, and not only did we fall in love with the computer generated imagery, but we were impressed by the fact that this animation was synchronised with a live recording of  Milhaud’s 'La Création du Monde'.
