We’ve been brewing up a VFX storm over the last few weeks in the form of the VFX Festival 2013. Last year’s Festival was a huge success, tickets sold out in 72 hours and after a week of packed workshops and talks, this time we had no choice but to make things bigger and better!

Don’t you just love it when two intricate art forms collide to make something equally as wonderful as each ingredient on its own? We saw this video (above) created by students from the University for the Creative Arts, and not only did we fall in love with the computer generated imagery, but we were impressed by the fact that this animation was synchronised with a live recording of Milhaud’s 'La Création du Monde'.

On Wednesday Aug 7th rotoscoping guru Martin Body, whose work spans from 2001: A Space Odyssey to Casino Royale to Skyfall, is speaking at our Open Day about his epic career in the world of Visual Effects. Pre-digital, Martin was an optical and rostrum cameraman and even used to roto by hand using paper and scissors to create matts back in the day!
