We’re going to be hosting an event with The Foundry and Hewlett Packard called An Evening with NUKE and MARI in London on August 18th. The event is designed for professional artists who want to take a peek at the new features of NUKE, NUKEX and the newly launched bridge between NUKE and MARI. It will definitely be exciting to see first hand all that’s new in these products.

Escape Studios First in the UK to Teach NUKE to MARI Bridge

Escape Studios First in the UK to Teach NUKE to MARI Bridge

I have just finished a great week teaching MARI to our new Compositing Professional class. I took them through UVing in Maya, and then taught them how to get to grips with MARI. As part of the curriculum, I also included for the first time the brand new NUKE to MARI bridge which makes the process of taking camera projections from Nuke to Mari and baking projections to UV space much quicker and more flexible.

New: Key Compositing Concepts Webinar

New: Key Compositing Concepts Webinar

There are some key compositing concepts that every artist just starting out in the industry should know about. That’s why I have decided to put this webinar together. I will walk you through those concepts, concentrating on a shot that involves Roto, Paint and Rig removal. This is something that I cover in great detail in the Compositing for Production Course that I teach at Escape Studios. I teach about all the techniques that our students will be required to use when they get a job in the industry. This practical knowledge is essential and my aim for this webinar is to give you a taste of these techniques helping you to stand apart from the competition.

Escapee Showcase: Roger Serrabassa Vilar

We're very proud of the work we do here at Escape Studios but we probably don't show enough of our students' work. Over the coming months we're going to be featuring much more student work on our website but in the meantime I wanted to start showing some of the reels from our most recent graduates.

One of our students, Alexander Kubinyi, told us about his experience at Double Negative and what it was like to have your reel critiqued by Alex ‘The baron’ Wuttke. This week, we catch up with another escapee who is studying our Compositing Professional Course and is being coached by The Mill. Here’s a snippet from Mary Lapena’s coaching diary.

Digital Compositor and Escapee Victor Perez Thanks Escape Studios

Digital Compositor and Escapee Victor Perez Thanks Escape Studios

When Victor Perez finished our 12-week Compositing for Production course last year, we knew that he was destined for great things. Since completing the course he has worked for an impressive range of companies - most of the post houses in Soho in fact - and is absolutely loving it.  Victor was born to be a compositor -it's just in his blood.  He's been hooked since his early days watching Star Wars. For Victor being able to use his artistic and technical skills to tell a story is one of the most important aspect of what he does -he's definitely in the right job then!

Changing Workflows Within the Post Pipelines...

Changing Workflows Within the Post Pipelines...

I noticed this over at JupiterJazz: AtomKraft Beta2. It's a massive plugin to Nuke enabling a whole host of 3D rendering type workflows. Believe it or not, it puts control of final renders and outputs in the hands of the compers!

Add Realism to Composite Shots with 220 Organic Effects

Add Realism to Composite Shots with 220 Organic Effects

OK, so Sapphire is not a new product. It has been used by a lot of the top studios like Framestore, MPC and The Mill for some time now. But is it new to our Techstore range, so we thought we’d make a bit of noise about it.

I'm really pleased to announce a new addition to our full-time classroom courses - Compositing Professional.  This course builds on the amazing success of our 12 week compositing for production course and adds an additional 6 weeks of advanced training.  This extra time will give students the opportunity to develop skills to really set them apart from other juniors looking to enter the industry - covering subjects such as compositing for stereoscopic and the advanced techniques needed to work with high end 3D visual effects.  Part of the course includes a dedicated project week where you'll be able to work on your showreel and make sure that it really stands out from the crowd.

Please getting in touch with training team or come along to one of our open days to find out more.
