With Jurassic Park 4 in the foreseeable distance, it’s often worth taking a moment to remember how epic Jurassic Park was, upon its release in 1993.

It's very easy to lose creative motivation and it's something every artist will experience at some stage in their career. We all got into Visual Effects to work in a creative career, so why stop living the dream? To remain on the cutting edge of creativity, sometimes you need to take yourself out of your comfort zone and remind yourself of the things in VFX that speak to you the loudest - because ultimately that’s what will drive your best work.

If like me you’ve been eagerly anticipating every weekend for the time when you can stream the latest episode of Spartacus: War of the Damned,  you’ll know that this weekend was the penultimate episode of arguably the most fantastically gory series ever to hit television screens.

I can still remember being five years old and fashioning two back pack holsters for my toy swords, out of plastic drinks bottles in homage to Leonardo, my favourite member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles troupe.

Everybody stay calm. It appears people all over the globe are beginning to harness the dark side of the force, and they’re not thinking twice about dishing out the pain… oh no wait, it’s just another ridiculous internet craze.

Thanks to the Max Planck institute for Informatics, actors may be spared the embarrassment of wearing the ever so flattering lycra body suits when it comes to shooting scenes laden with VFX. 

Damon Lindelof was the genius behind the script for 2012’s VFX emblazoned Prometheus, but it was unveiled earlier this year that he will not be returning to write the script for the sequel.
